Metal Roof Replacement
Remove and replace aged or damaged metal roofing with high-performance Colorbond® or equivalent systems for maximum weather resistance, structural integrity, and service life.

Service Details:

Metal roofing is one of the most durable roofing systems available, but over decades it can deteriorate due to corrosion, UV breakdown, fastener fatigue, and inadequate maintenance. Left unchecked, this degradation leads to water ingress, insulation failure, timber rot, and costly structural damage.

At Atomic Projects, we replace failing metal roofs with premium, high-performance systems that exceed Australian Standards and deliver decades of reliable protection. We don’t just swap out sheets — we assess, repair, and upgrade every part of the roofing system, ensuring it’s watertight, compliant, and built to last.

Our Metal Roof Replacement Process

  1. Detailed Roof Condition Assessment
    • Inspect for corrosion, perforation, loose fixings, flashing failures, and sarking damage.
    • Identify substrate decay, timber deterioration, or structural movement.
  2. Safe Removal & Disposal
    • Remove all existing metal sheets, flashings, and cappings in accordance with WHS and environmental regulations.
    • Dispose of all materials at licensed facilities.
  3. Structural & Substrate Repairs
    • Replace rotten battens, repair steel corrosion, and correct frame alignment before installation.
    • Treat all exposed metal with rust inhibitors and protective coatings.
  4. Premium Roofing Installation
    • Install Colorbond® Ultra, Stainless Steel, or equivalent systems suited to the site’s environmental conditions.
    • Use concealed fixings where possible to reduce penetration points and extend roof life.
    • Fit new sarking and insulation to improve thermal efficiency and condensation control.
  5. Custom Flashings & Weatherproof Detailing
    • Fabricate all flashings, cappings, and penetrations to exact site measurements for a perfect seal.
    • Ensure compliance with AS 1562.1 (Design and Installation of Sheet Roof and Wall Cladding).
  6. Final QA, Certification & Handover
    • Conduct a full roof inspection and water test before handover.
    • Provide photographic documentation, maintenance guidance, and warranty certificates.

When to Replace a Metal Roof

  • Persistent leaks despite patch repairs.
  • Extensive corrosion or sheet perforation.
  • Widespread loose or failed fixings.
  • Deterioration of insulation and underlay.
  • Storm, hail, or fire damage beyond economical repair.
